Its stronger than the cheep ones
I think this works verry well, it is strong enough to get the job done, you just need to be fast. I guess the horse shoe is easier to use so i think i will buy that one too. But If i had to choose between one of them i would buy this one since it is more versatile. Also I would buy this one and not a cheep one with less magnetic effect.
For the french cateye this is perfect though! And if you like the stripe cateye effect then Im sure this is also perfect.

got this to use with flashing lights and its easy to use and i enjoy it

I used this on Deep Space polish and I may not have done it correctly. But I will try using it above the nail next time. If that works, I will make it 5 stars. If not, I will try to buy the horseshoe magnet and hope that works better
