Mutagen is part of ILNP’s Ultra Chrome® class of chromatic nail polishes; formulated to apply directly to the nail without the need for a base color.

not for my skin tone, longevity issue
a really pretty polish, but i don’t
think it’s quite right for my light, cool toned skin. perhaps the color isn’t what i expected, a little duller, shifts less than say, eclipse. i will try with a topper to see if i can adjust how the color comes up, but this is not a polish i reach for unless i want to undertake a project.
also, this formula has a bad habit of gooping up after a couple years. i store mine in a closed container in a dark area. would love for ILNP to put out a thinner made for these polishes.
So shifty
Mutagen is a hard one to pin down. The green that you see in the swatch pictures is absolutely one angle you can get on this polish, but at other times it's more of a pale, muted gold, or even a slightly purplish shimmer. I'm not sure I love this one, but it's definitely unique!

This has been worn 5 times and only once by me! Friends keep borrowing it, :-)
