versatile even with its shortcomings
i had 6 polishes, including this one, in my order. by the time i got to using this one, i realized that ILNP's polishes tend to lean on the jelly/sheer side, so i only wore this one by itself once. it took 3? coats before i was satisfied with how covered my visible nail line was, but the polish itself is very reactive to both my strong neodymium bar and my run-of-the-mill freebie cat eye magnets! again, ILNP's thin brush combined with the sheer formula makes this polish hard to work with if you want full coverage, unless you are using another polish (e.g. an opaque coat of black or grey).
where this polish shines, though, actually comes from its shortcomings! this works beautifully over any creme to deepen the color and add a holographic/silver magnetic effect, much like a topper. my favorite has been to put it over a true blue (royal blue or navy) creme, and even just one coat is enough to deepen the color just a tad and give the crispest magnetic effect, whether it be cat eye or glass bead (not a fan of velvet personally)! it's also nice to get dozens of new looks with just this polish and whatever creme i'm feeling, instead of buying multiple magnetic polishes.
i wouldn't purchase this again as a stand-alone color just because of how hard it was to put 3 coats AND magnetize to get a solid look, but would definitely purchase again to use as a topper.
